Trial of the Pyx
The Trial of the Pyx is an ancient ceremony that has been administered since the twelfth century. The aim of the ceremony is to inspect the quality and accuracy of the United Kingdom’s coinage.

With more than 1,100 years of numismatic history, The Royal Mint Museum has evolved from being a source of inspiration for engravers at The Royal Mint to hosting a collection of historic coinage dating back hundreds of years.
